AES supporting the local community
Auto Electrical Supplies Limited (AES) are pleased to have been able to support our local community by donating to the CGCC Food Bank.
AES owner, James Fawkes, who is Wakefield born and bred is keen to support the local community, he has provided sponsorship and donations to a number of community and grassroot sports initiatives in the past, but this time he wanted to help support local families. James understands that the current economic climate is hitting our local families hard and just wanted to show his support.
The CGCC Food Bank is a non-profit organisation providing assistance with food supplies to households requiring support and trying to alleviate poverty in its local community. They are a fantastic local group of volunteers making a huge difference.
Holly Buxton, Project Coordinator from CGCC Food Bank commented ‘’the donation is absolutely amazing, and will make such a massive difference to our work, times are hard for many, and our services are being relied upon more and more, seeing the impact that we can have on the lives of people within our community is overwhelming”.
Holly added “The donation will be used to purchase non-perishable food, which will be distributed to households in need across much of WF1, WF2, WF4 and WF5. We clear our shelves regularly, with the cost of living crisis sending more and more people into a state of poverty, funds like these are absolutely vital to ensure that we can continue our work, and support as many people in our community as possible.”
The foodbank was set up in lockdown, but due to demand is now a permanent fixture located at the Calder Grove Cricket Club.
