To acknowledge the outstanding achievement of the local based Wakefield company AES Ltd for the Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade in 2020, Chairman, of AES Ltd James Fawkes had the pleasure of attending a Reception at Windsor Castle in November hosted by HRH The Prince of Wales on behalf of The Queen, for The Queen’s Awards for 2020 Enterprise Winners where he had the pleasure of meeting member of the Royal Household.
Following the event at Windor Castle AES Ltd received a visit from The Queen’s representative in West Yorkshire- The Lord- Lieutenant on 6th December to present the Grant of Appointment (official certificate) signed by HM The Queen and Prime Minister, and the commemorative crystal ink blue trophy.

The Lord- Lieutenant’s visit allowed the AES Ltd team to join celebrations and they were formally thanked for the hard work and commitment. James Fawkes explained ‘’that this award was an achievement for every member of staff and was a wonderful accomplishment for a business that started life in a garden shed!’’
The Covid pandemic delayed celebrations, but it’s now official! AES Ltd can now continue to display the Queen’s Award emblem with pride.
